From the time he was the Prince of Wales on 1 July 1969, Charles has been a backer of interfaith dialogue and the corollary of citizens of multiple faiths living peacefully together. Charles has had a large number of meetings with citizens of the UK who are Hindu, and has expressed his pleasure at the remarkable contribution to the UK that has been made by them.
