Two dozen fined for crossing the road when pedestrian light was red

Twenty-four pedestrians, aged between 20 and 70, have been issued summonses for ignoring the red light at pedestrian crossings.
Enforcement action took place islandwide between March 17 and 21.
In response to queries by The Sunday Times on March 28, the Traffic Police (TP) said that the number of accidents involving pedestrians who jaywalked had increased by 23 per cent, from 288 cases in 2023 to 353 cases in 2024.
