Aug 31 Korea (Seoul and Busan) form analysis
-
RACE 1 (1,300M) After a debut fourth, (5) STORM TROOPER was a narrowly beaten second at start No. 2 at 1,200m on Aug 3, having led for part of the way. He comes into a better gate this time, can lead again and, third-up, he can be peaking.
(4) CHRYSOL PEACE did nothing on debut in January but returned on Aug 3 looking much better and running third over 1,200m. He should strip fitter for that run and can be close.
(11) GAYA STAR has a second and a third from his latest two. He has done his best work late, so the wide draw should not be a problem, and can challenge at the business end. (6) STRONG BOSS and (10) BLACK RUSSIAN are in the hunt.
RACE 2 (1,400M) (3) CHRYSOL STONE looked very good when winning on debut over 1,200m on July 20, leading for most of the way. She comes up in class and in trip, but the manner of that victory suggests there is more to come, and she will be hot favourite to make it two from two.
(4) CUPID K was a smart winner at this trip on July 20, racing handy. She comes up in class but is down in weight and can measure up.
(1) ARCH RUNNER remarkably has 10 top-three finishes without winning. She was third in this class ahead of a couple of these rivals over 1,700m on Aug 3 and, with a 2kg claimer, this is the kind of race where she can pick up a prize.
(8) STUNNING STEP and (11) MIGHTY CAP can place.
RACE 3 (1,200M) (1) HEY BROTHER was sixth on debut and then third at start two on Aug 1. Both of those were over 1,000m but the step-up in trip can suit and he can win.
(11) HOLY NIKE ran in the same two races as Hey Brother, finishing fifth and fourth. He has to beat the widest gate, but he too should appreciate the step-up in trip.
(2) SILVER STONE improved to third on her second outing over this distance on Aug 1 when she came from well off the pace to defeat three of these rivals. She can be running on again.
