Well-credentialled Irish stayer with wins in the Group 2 Curragh Cup (2,800m) and Group 1 Irish St Leger (2,800m) in his last two starts at Curragh. Go close.
2 BUCKAROO
At his last start he was narrowly beaten in the Group 1 Cox Plate (2,040m) at Moonee Valley by Via Sistina. He finished ninth in 2024 but had little luck.

2025 Group 1 Sydney Cup (3,200m) winner who made up ground with big weight of 135lb (6ikg) to finish 6L eighth in the Group 3 Bendigo Cup (2,400m) on Oct 29.

Former Irish stayer now trained in Australia and back for his third Melbourne Cup. He needs to improve on his last-start 13th in the Group 1 Caulfield Cup (2,400m).
5 CHEVALIER ROSE
Group 2 winner in November 2024 in Japan over 3,600m. He has raced below his best in strong company in four runs in 2025.
