BOA SORRY OVER SNIDE COMMENT
The Straits Times
|April 09, 2025
K-pop star BoA has apologised for a comment she made about South Korean comedienne Park Na-rae during a drunken live stream she appeared in with South Korean TV personality Jun Hyun-moo.
-
The 38-year-old singer, whose real name is Kwon Bo-ah, did so via a post made on the fan community site Weverse on April 7, according to South Korean news outlet Korea JoongAng Daily.
"I apologise to everyone who felt uncomfortable due to my careless words and immature behaviour during the social media live stream on Saturday," she wrote.
BoA, who debuted in 2000 and is among the first K-pop acts that launched the Hallyu wave around the world, faced a backlash after appearing in an Instagram live stream started spontaneously by Jun on April 5. Jun said the pair were at his home having a drink, and netizens noted that both were visibly intoxicated.
