2 other planes hit by landing gear issues in recent days

Besides the Jeju Air plane crash that killed 179 people in South Korea on Dec 29, two other planes have reportedly suffered landing gear malfunctions in recent days.

Another Jeju Air jet suffered a landing gear malfunction on Dec 30 before returning safely to Seoul, Bloomberg reported.
The plane's crew discovered a signal warning of a malfunction in the plane's landing gear after takeoff from Seoul, a spokesman for Jeju Air said at a briefing on Dec 30.
Although the pilot managed to get the gear to work after communicating with the airline's maintenance centre, the decision was made to return to the airport for inspection, the spokesman said.
The plane landed safely at 7.20am, according to Flightradar24 tracking data.
