Rubbishing reports of his political differences with Trinamul chairperson Mamata Banerjee, the national general secretary of the ruling party in West Bengal on Thursday expressed his loyalty to her.

While addressing the Trinamul Congress' organisational meeting, packed with party leaders and workers across the state at Netaji Indoor Stadium (NIS) this afternoon, Mr Banerjee said: "My leader is Mamata Banerjee." Sharing the dais with Miss Banerjee he added: "I am a loyal soldier of the Trinamul Congress." Rejecting any notion that he might cross over to the rival saffron camp, he said, "Those who are saying that I am joining BJP are spreading canards. Even with a severed head, I will say Mamata Banerjee zindabad.
