Trinamul Congress national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee visited the family of Pradeep Kar in Panihati, who died by suicide in fear of NRC on Tuesday.

After visiting the deceased's family, addressing the Media, Abhishek said, “With a day of the announcement of SIR, we got the news that a 57-year-old man had taken his own life out of fear of SIR and NRC. I had connected with the family of the deceased yesterday and, along with our booth presidents, people's representatives and party workers, we all came here to help and support them. Panic has set it because of NRC and SIR. On one hand, there is the ECI and on the other hand, the central government. They wish to keep people in fear and to create an atmosphere of terror. They want to decide who are the citizens of this country and who are not.”

Starting tomorrow, he gave the clarion call to hit the streets with one unequivocal demand: "Justice for Pradeep Kar"
