He is a renowned Australian architect celebrated for his lyrical yet technically refined approach to design. Acclaimed Australian architect Peter Stutchbury is now known globally for his contextual, environmentally sensitive, and poetic design philosophy. He was recently in Kolkata to deliver the 8th Charles Correa Memorial Lecture organised by the Charles Correa Foundation in association with the Ambuja Neotia Group. Reflecting on Correa's influence, Stutchbury says, "It's an immense honour to deliver the 8th Charles Correa Memorial Lecture in the very city where a part of his extraordinary vision came to life. Charles Correa was not merely an architect; he was a philosopher of space... His unwavering commitment to designing with deep respect for the environment, local culture, and human condition mirrors the very foundations of my own practice."
Speaking to The Statesman, globally famed Australian architect Peter Stutchbury explains how Kolkata can add a dash of spirituality to its architecture and aesthetics and take the city's landscapes to new heights.
