Global Corporates Brace Themselves for a Whole New Ballgame

For corporate executives, engineers, tech specialists, and number crunchers, it's going to be an entirely different ballgame. As 16 corporate entities from 16 nations compete in the final phase of the Corporate Football World Cup in Morocco this October, India will have its maiden opportunity to make a mark on the global football stage—albeit on a smaller scale and in a different format.

This will be the seventh edition of the Corporate Football World Cup, organised by the Fédération Internationale de Football Corporatif (FIFCO).

Montreal-based FIFCO promotes corporate football worldwide and organises the Corporate Football World Cup, an annual event hosted in different countries across the globe.

This year will see many firsts. India will be participating in the tournament for the first time. Additionally, for the first time, there will be a separate women's championship running alongside the men's competition. If all goes as planned, this will also mark the first time a corporate team from Kolkata competes in the tournament.
