Devotees throng Kali temples across Bengal on auspicious ‘Amavasya'

Lakhs of devotees visited famous Kali temples across Kolkata and different parts of West Bengal on Monday to offer prayers on the occasion of Kali Puja, which coincides with the new moon (Amavasya) night.
Long queues were seen since early morning at temples such as Dakshineswar Kali Temple, Kalighat, Firingi Kalibari, Thanthania Kali Bari, and Tarapith in Birbhum as devotees arrived to seek the blessings of Goddess Kali and light traditional earthen lamps.
