Bengali signs should be equal in size to that of other languages on signboards: KMC

Amid the controversy around the issue of the Bengali language, the Kolkata Municipal Corporation has made it mandatory for shop owners and traders to display Bengali language signs in fonts equal in size to that of other languages on their signboards.
Earlier last week, the civic body had issued a notification instructing traders and shop owners to use Bengali language in prominent size on their signboards along with other languages. The KMC had also given a deadline to complete the task by 30 September.
The notification, however, did not specify the font size.
