The Woman in Cabin 10 is not gripping enough to beat Christie’s work

Crime stories are stirring. Mysterious and packed with minute-by-minute tension wrapped in a sense of forbidding fear, they never cease to grip me.
Yes, only those that are made in Hollywood. Our desi stuff gets me yawning midway, for often scripted unintelligently, they begin to sag after the first hour.
The other evening, I watched a lovely crime caper, The Woman in Cabin 10, now playing on Netflix (which is getting better by the day). Adapted from a novel by Ruth Ware, it tells us the story of a Guardian journalist, Laura Blacklock (Keira Knightly).
Knightly just fits this part, as she has in several other films, notably period pieces - as Elizebeth Bennet in Pride and Prejudice (an Oscar nod), in Atonement (a tragic war tale with a poignant love story woven into it), in Anna Karenina (a historical romance), in The Imitation Game and in
