What began as a story of triumph ended in tragedy as mountaineer Subrata Ghosh from Ranaghat, Nadia, lost his life shortly after conquering Mount Everest.
Subrata Ghosh and fellow climber Rumppa Das, both members of the Krishnanagar Mountaineering Club, achieved the extraordinary feat of summiting Everest on Thursday afternoon. Their journey was a testament to resilience—overcoming financial hurdles, extreme weather, and physical strain to stand atop the world's highest peak.
