NHAIfailed to build a 20-kilometre highwayin 14 years in Assam's Dima Hassao

Under the new DPR, the construction work of a 49 km long four-lane highway from Nerimbaunglo in Maibang and Bora Narayanpur in Harangajao to Dinesh Chandra Agarwal and Infracon Private Limited of Ahmedabad began with the groundbreaking ceremony on 8 March, 2023.

The target of the work was 1095 days. That is, three years. There are two packages within 49 km. Jatinga-Nerimbaunglo 24 km and Jatinga-Harangajao 25 km. In the meantime, most of the construction work of Jatinga-Nerimbaunglo 24 km is completed, although about three km of work is left. There are geological problems there which have not been resolved even today.

Meanwhile, the 25 kilometer Jatinga-Harangajao stretch is now causing Nahaira headaches. According to the Nahaira-DRA Infracon Contract Agreement, the entire project has to be completed within three years of the start of work. But even though DRA is working at full speed, there are technical problems. From that perspective, it is normal that it will take time.
