Jharkhand Police crackdown on extremism, cybercrime, and organised syndicates

Jharkhand Police have reported a series of operations between January and September 2025 targeting Maoist activity, cybercrime, and organized criminal networks.
The campaign resulted in the recovery of 157 weapons, the killing of 32 Maoist operatives, arrests of 266 key cadres, and the freezing of ₹7.42 crore in cyber fraud, officials said.
According to Dr. Michaelraj S., IG (Ops), Police Headquarters, the recovered weapons included 58 firearms looted from security forces, 20 regular arms, and 68 country-made guns. Police also seized and neutralised 228 improvised explosive devices, recovered ₹39.53 lakh in extorted levies, and destroyed 37 Maoist bunkers across the state. Thirty Maoists surrendered voluntarily during this period, including notable figures from Latehar district.
