Commuters in Kolkata are likely to have smoother journeys on Saturdays as the city's two Metro networks are set to have an increased number of services on Saturdays.

To begin with, the Purple Line that did not operate on Saturdays commercially, will now have 40 services on this day. Starting from tomorrow, the Purple is all set to have 20 services each in the up and down directions at an interval of 21 minutes.
