Asansol South MLA and state Cabinet Minister for Urban Development and Municipal Affairs, Agnimitra Paul, has said that the state government will set up a bridge over the River Damodar connecting the industrial town of Burnpur with Saltora in Bankura.

“Each and every bridge to be constructed cannot be announced in a budget, and the bridge over the River Damodar, which will connect the three districts of Bankura, Purulia and West Burdwan, will also be set up in the coming days,” she told mediapersons after an official programme here. In her pre-election promise, she had claimed that if the BJP government came to power in the state, the long-standing demand of the people of the three districts for a bridge over the River Damodar would be fulfilled.
