Stock Market Erases Previous Session Gains, Eyes on RBI August Policy Decision

The stock market on Tuesday erased previous session gains. Nifty remained below 24,700 amid selling seen in most of the sectoral indices except auto.
At close, the Sensex was down 308.47 points or 0.38 per cent at 80,710.25, and the Nifty was down 73.20 points or 0.30 per cent at 24,649.55.
BSE Midcap index declined just 0.14 per cent while the BSE Smallcap index shed 0.27 per cent.
On Nifty, Titan was the best gainer, rising 2 per cent followed by IndusInd Bank rising 1.66 per cent and SBI Life which added 1.56 per cent. Further, the other top gainers were Maruti Suzuki, Coal India, Trent and Eicher Motors who added over 1 per cent each.
