Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, in his Independence Day address on Friday, unveiled an ambitious roadmap for Odisha's growth, announcing the government's decision to fill 85,000 vacant posts in various departments within two years, provide additional 5 kg free rice per month to beneficiaries in 11 districts, and establish four new ports, four medical colleges, and at least one industry in every district.
Mr Majhi highlighted that Odisha had received record investment proposals worth Rs 17 lakh crore earlier this year. "Already 60 industries have been set up with an investment of Rs1.8 lakh crore, creating more than one lakh jobs," he said.
