Indices Rise for Sixth Day in a Row Amid Buying in FMCG, Bank Stocks

The stock market continued the week on a strong note with benchmark Nifty-50 Index ending with a gain of 0.17 per cent, settling at 24,167 points.
While the Sensex concluded the trade with a rally of 0.24 per cent, at 79,595.
Nifty Midcap 100 gained another 0.8 per cent to settle at 54,397 points, while its peer, the Nifty Small Cap 100 index, finished the trade at 16,896 points, 0.73 per cent higher than the previous close.
At close, the Sensex was up 187.09 points or 0.24 per cent at 79,595.59, and the Nifty was up 41.70 points or 0.17 per cent at 24,167.25.
The Nifty Midcap 100 and Nifty Smallcap 100 indices gained 0.8 per cent each, as investors continued to hunt for bargains among the beaten-down counters. The broader markets also gained 2-2.5 per cent.
