Marking the auspicious occasion of Akshaya Tritiya, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Wednesday disbursed ₹1,025 crore under the CM Kisan Assistance scheme to benefit 51 lakh farmers across the state.
Marking the auspicious occasion of Akshaya Tritiya, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Wednesday disbursed ₹1,025 crore under the CM Kisan Assistance scheme to benefit 51 lakh farmers across the state. He also participated in a symbolic tilling and seed-sowing ceremony, mirroring the traditional start of agricultural activities for the Kharif season.
Akshaya Tritiya, considered an auspicious day in Odisha, also marks the commencement of the construction of chariots for the annual Rath Yatra in Puri. As part of the rituals, servitors seek divine approval, and three sacred logs are ceremoniously placed outside the temple to initiate the chariot-building process.
Leaders from all political parties also took part in the customary sowing rituals in nearby paddy fields.
