Advocate serves legal notice to Banpur NACEO, demands ₹5 lakh compensation

Advocate, Sitaram Agrawal, has served a legal notice to the Executive Officer (EO) of Banpur NAC, seeking ₹5 lakh as compensation for alleged harassment, health hazards, and property damage caused due to water logging in front of his residence.
Agrawal, a resident of Ward No. 10 under Banpur NAC, alleged that despite repeated complaints about flooding near his house, the NAC failed to act. He had earlier approached the Orissa High Court, which directed the EO to address the issue. However, instead of providing a drainage solution, the EO allegedly ordered the demolition of the soak pit in front of his house on 23 May, using a JCB. The soak pit was reportedly the only outlet for rainwater.
