JOHANNESBURG came alive this past weekend as the Standard Bank Joy of Jazz festival delivered a spectacular showcase of world-class performances, treating local and international jazz lovers to a rich celebration of music and culture.
Held at the Sandton Convention Centre from September 26 to 28, the festival brought together more than 60 musicians from 15 countries across three continents. For three days, the venue became the epicentre of a global jazz celebration, offering audiences a fusion of sounds, cultures, and styles in an unforgettable showcase.
The festival featured four dynamic stages, Dinaledi, Conga, Diphala, and Mbira, each alive with performances highlighting the very best of African and international jazz.
In the lead-up to the main event, Johannesburg and its surrounding areas buzzed with activations, building anticipation for what has become one of the continent's most immersive music and lifestyle experiences.
