Digital licence testing system falls short
The Star
|May 30, 2025
THE Western Cape government has rolled out its new digital learner's licence testing system, a move that’s being hailed as a step towards cleaner governance and safer roads.
-
The Computerised Learner’s Licence Testing (CLLT) platform was launched in Beaufort West this week and has already been implemented in several rural centres across the province.
It replaces the outdated paper-based test with a touchscreen-based system linked to the national database.
Applicants can now sit at touch-screen terminals, questions are randomised, and everything links to the national traffic database.
