Youngsters shine to ease past Cobblers

PORT Vale reached the third round of the FA Youth Cup with an impressive 5-0 victory at Northampton Town - their biggest away win in the competition for almost 30 years.

Vale set the tone in the first minute when a cross from Josh Samuel-Flemmings was headed goalwards by Tom Scragg only for Elliot Smith to make a good save.

Joe Hunter and Miracle Orisakwe both shot wide of the mark for the Valiants before they opened the scoring in the 34th minute. The ball reached Hunter 25 yards from goal and he unleashed a powerful shot that took a deflection as it rocketed into the net.
