Waine happy to be versatile to help Vale's safety quest

Vale striker Ben Waine will not be setting himself any goal targets and insisted he is just grateful to be given a chance to play.The New Zealand international is looking forward to the League One clash at home to Peterborough United tomorrow, hoping he can continue to make an impact.

The 24-year-old is even happy to play in an unfamiliar position out on the left and says he is getting more comfortable the more he plays there.

"It’s maybe a bit more physical because you do have to track back a bit further than you do when you are a striker but I back myself and my fitness to be able to do that," he said of the position at the club's pre-match press conference.

"I don't think it’s something unnatural for me to be able to do either. At first I was a bit surprised [the manager wanted me to play there].
