WOE: Port Vale's miserable run of form continued with a 1-0 defeat at Lincoln City.

I was listening to Lincoln's Stacey West Podcast on the drive to the game and they were looking at Vale's form and wondering what sort of game this was going to be.

The natural superstition of any football fan told them Vale’s losing run had to end soon, and would probably be against their team. Their more scientific examination showed Vale are creating chances and not giving that many opportunities away so, they concluded, they were up against a side that was okay in 75 per cent of the pitch but not ruthless enough at either end.

I doubt their opinion would have changed after this 90 minutes as a pretty ugly game in the rain ended 1-0 to the home side because they were able to take one of their few opportunities while Vale weren't.
