Plans for safety measures on road dubbed a 'racetrack'

A ZEBRA crossing and traffic calming measures are set to be installed on a 'racetrack' road.

Residents on Colclough Lane, in Sandyford, have been demanding action for years with cars reaching dangerous speeds.

Now Stoke-on-Trent City Council is consulting over plans to install the zebra crossing near St Joseph's Catholic Academy - as well as a raised speed hump on the approach to the crossing and bollards to stop motorists parking in places which restrict visibility.

Safety work will also be carried out on the adjoining Mobberley Road. It is hoped any work will take place during the school holidays to minimise disruption.
