School swimmers make waves

A SCHOOL swimming team is now ranked in the top five of their category in the country - after achieving the best results for 29 years.

The team of Oscar Bouras, Rebecca Talathi, Rhys Whalley, Lyla Whalley, Victoria Talathi and Anya Khoo, from Newcastle-under-Lyme Prep School, took part in the English Schools Swimming Association National Primary Schools Finals.

The team finished third in the 4x25m freestyle relay and fourth in the 4x25m medley relay.

The results means that the pupils are now ranked in the top three and four schools in the country for the medium-sized schools category respectively.
