Review of roadworks after fury at traffic chaos in city streets

Clearer signs promise follows car queues
SEVERN Trent bosses are reviewing roadworks that have brought traffic chaos to a Stoke-on-Trent neighbourhood.
Families in Birches Head have been left fuming by 'horrific' congestion in Birches Head Road, Woodward Street and Barthomley Road following the closure of Kelvin Avenue.
It comes as Severn Trent is in the next phase of its £25 million project to lay 24 miles of pipes across Burslem, Smallthorne, Tunstall, Birches Head, Sneyd Green and Hanley.
Now the firm has pledged to work with Stoke-on-Trent City Council to help ease the issues. It says it is looking at introducing clearer signs and onsite measures 'to support safe traffic flow' but failed to give details.
