Rapist jailed for 9½ years

A RAPIST who ignored a woman's pleas to stop his sex attack has been jailed for nearly 10 years.

A few days after the rape in 2021, the survivor came forward and told Staffordshire Police what Hemmings had done. He was arrested and brought in for questioning, where he denied the offence.

But a jury saw through his lies and he was convicted of rape. Now the 34-year-old has been sentenced to nine-years-and-six-months behind bars at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court.
