HANFORD seconds turned on the style to comfortably beat Betley 2nd XI in NSSCL Division Seven.

- Chris Travers

Visitors Hanford were in fine form with the bat first of all as they amassed 217 all out on their road trip.

Faizal Parvaiz and Simon Hackworthy led the run spree as they both compiled half-centuries.

Parvaiz’s 60, which came off just 35 balls, included 11 fours, with Hackworthy striking eight boundaries in his 52.

Shayan Hussain lent support with 34, while Russell Barker and Setu Sanghvi finished with 3-31 and 3-46 respectively. There were also a couple of scalps for Ben Brock.

In reply, Betley fell to 17-5 and although Barker made 15, they were bundled out for a paltry 51.

Aaqib Shamim (3-13) fronted the Hanford attack, backed up by double strikes from Usama Idrees, Parvaiz and Hussain.

Congleton seconds chalked up their sixth successive league win by sweeping aside the challenge of Audley thirds.

Ryan Booth top-scored with 66, hitting eight fours and two sixes, to pave the way for Congleton to reach 198-9.
