The Sentinel
|July 03, 2025
OAKAMOOR thirds banked a nine-wicket home victory over Meakins 3rd XI in NSSCL Division Six.
A Ford's 3-15, coupled with double strikes from G Hayes, A Carnwell and L Walker, saw Meakins limited to 124 all out.
D Edwards and J Coxon chipped in with 39 and 28 respectively for the home side.
That target didn’t prove to be a problem for the home side as they eased across the line.
J Wood hit 12 fours in a fine 61 not out, with A Booth compiling an unbeaten 47.
Newcastle & Hartshill thirds won by the same margin against their Stafford counterparts.
Castle’s bowlers were in excellent form as they skittled Stafford for just 77.
M Smith 94-12) and D Purcell (3-24) did the bulk of the damage for the home side, while D Howe's 17 was the top score with the bat.
Newcastle & Hartshill eased to the points after the interval as R Matsa made 33 not out and there was 21 apiece from J Wilson and G Bailey.
