Moore says three-point swing after Debrah’s late equaliser felt like a win for title-chasing Valiants

Never-say-die draw ‘like a victory'

DARREN Moore reckoned Port Vale's late comeback against Grimsby Town to draw 2-2 “felt like a win.”

With Bradford City conceding a late goal to drop two points, and Vale grabbing a point with the final play of their game, that three-point swing could have a bearing on the title, not just automatic promotion.

The likelihood is Vale will gain promotion at AFC Wimbledon on Saturday. That will happen if Vale win and either Bradford don’t win at Doncaster or Walsall don’t beat Accrington.

The third scenario is if Vale draw and Walsall lose to Accrington, the Burslem outfit will go up.

“It does feel like there are elements of a win,” smiled Moore. “When you are two goals down in a tightly-contested game like that, the commitment and the endeavour of the players and the passion they showed to keep going is what we've wanted to embody in the players.
