University awards highest honour to community leader

A COMMUNITY ambassador has received a university's highest honour after dedicating his life to 'uplifting others'.

The University of Staffordshire has recognised Mohammed Ramzan’s work to help those from disadvantaged backgrounds, through education, opportunity and civic engagement.

And he was awarded an honorary doctorate in recognition of these achievements at University of Staffordshire’s Summer Awards Ceremonies.

“I am truly humbled to receive this recognition and I will cherish it deeply,” Mohammed said.

“This moment means so much to me and to my family who have been with me every step of the way. It will forever hold a special place in our hearts.”

Born abroad and raised in Shelton, Mohammed learned English as a second language.
