Johnson reunited with his old manager Moore to help Valiants through defensive injury problems

MARVIN Johnson says he knows just how Darren Moore likes to play and is ready to hit the ground running at Port Vale.

Having received the call from his former boss to come in on a short-term deal because of so many injuries to defenders, Johnson is ready to step in.

Liam Gordon and Mitch Clark are medium-term injuries while recently Jaheim Headley and Kyle John have been sidelined. Jordan Gabriel is thought to have injured his ankle on Saturday at AFC Wimbledon.

Johnson now links up with the Valiants after leaving Sheffield Wednesday at the end of last season.

He could make his debut in Saturday's match at Wigan Athletic - and as far as Johnson is concerned, he is prepared to play.
