Key decisions set to be made by cabinet
KEY decisions are due to be made relating to Stoke-on-Trent's long-awaited local plan, the end of a controversial schools PFI scheme, and the decommissioning of two blocks of flats.
These issues all feature on the updated forward plan for Stoke-on-Trent City Council’s cabinet, which lists the decisions to be made by the authority's leaders over the coming months.
One of the reports due to come to cabinet relates to Stoke-on-Trent’s forthcoming local plan. The local plan will guide all development in the city until 2040, earmarking sites where thousands of new homes will be built, along with land for employment and amenities.
Work on developing the local plan has been ongoing since 2021 and has faced various delays.
Cabinet members will be asked to approve a draft local plan for consultation by August 19, and according to the local plan timetable, the consultation is expected to take place in the autumn.
HERE ARE SOME OF THE OTHER DECISIONS SET TO COME TO CABINET IN THE COMING MONTHS
BELL HOUSE AND BARKER HOUSE
Cabinet will be asked to approve the decommissioning of council flats at Bell House and Barker House, in Blurton.
