Thriving allotment has won numerous awards... and uses grass from Port Vale to help the produce grow!

AN award-winning allotment has celebrated its 100th anniversary.
The Dolly’s Lane Allotments in Burslem has 72 plots which are all well maintained.
Allotment holders grow a wide range of produce from potatoes and beans to courgettes and aubergines.
But they also benefit from exercise, fresh air, friendships and a strong community spirit which runs across the site.
The centenary celebration was attended by the Lord Mayor of Stoke-on-Trent, Councillor Steve Watkins.
He said: “These allotments are the best I have seen. It was my first visit. It really is a one-stop shop for everything you might need.”
Lady Mayoress, Councillor Lynn Watkins, Stoke-on-Trent City Council's portfolio holder for integrated health and wellbeing, added: “An allotment helps people who feel isolated. There is fresh air, exercise and social benefits.”
Stoke-on-Trent North MP David Williams said: “It is fantastic to be here. A big thank you to all the committee members for all their hard work in making the allotment so vibrant.
