Leek Town 'in a much better place' with most of the squad staying on
The Sentinel

CHAIRMAN Jon Eeles is delighted that Leek Town have been able to retain the bulk of their squad for next season.

Under the guidance of manager Josh Brehaut, the Blues finished a creditable 15th in the Northern Premier League Premier Division. And Eeles, pictured, is pleased that most of the players are staying.
"We have retained all the squad with the exception of George Milner, who has gone to Stalybridge, and Tom Scully who has gone to Prescot Cables," said Eeles.
"In addition to that, we are signing Ollie Heyward from Chester.
"He was on loan with us for about 20 weeks last year and he has had discussions with Chester.
"He didn’t want to stay there and they are allowing him to leave and come to us because we've had him on loan for two seasons.
"He was with us for six games the previous season and we had him 20 games this season. It’s inevitable but you've still got to cross the Ts and dot the Is.
“Contracts aren’t really available until June 1, so this is a verbal agreement, as is everybody who has signed even though everybody seems to think they have signed contracts when they haven't”
