Leading lights honoured by King

Community heroes in Birthday Honours

SERVICES to education, medicine and the public are the key themes linking many Staffordshire residents recognised by His Majesty the King in his Birthday Honours.

Charity workers, leading lights in their professions and local people making a difference to their communities all receive MBEs, OBEs and BEMs for their contributions to society.

Residents of Staffordshire who have received an honour include:

■ MBE for Jeremy Paul Cartwright, of Uttoxeter, Chair of the Corporation Board of Stoke-on-Trent College, for services to further education;

■ MBE for Neil Cotterill, of Stoke-on-Trent, Community Engagement Advisor, Department for Work and Pensions, for services to the youth community of North Staffordshire;
