'Legendary' chip shop keeps old name under new ownership
OLD NAME: Leon's fish and chip shop.
A 'LEGENDARY' fish and chip shop is back open.
New owner Tayfun 'Kass' Kahraman was born and bred in Kidsgrove and has taken on Leon's Traditional Fish and Chips which he's visited since a child.
Due to the fame the Market Street eatery brought to the town, the 26-year-old has decided to keep the name to honour former founder Leon Burgess, who died last year.
He has spent £120,000 renovating the iconic premises.
The new look has seen the closure of the seating area, making room for more customers to queue inside.
