Jail for abuser who blames it on ADHD
The Sentinel
|May 19, 2025
THUG Kieran Mountford threw a puppy at a wall and left a woman in hospital after two relationships turned abusive. The 22-year-old verbally and physically assaulted two different girlfriends over several years.
His violent behaviour included hurling a three-month-old dog as a way of controlling one of his terrified victims, as well as strangling one of them and regularly beating them up.
Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court heard one woman was hospitalised after he attacked her for forgetting her PayPal password when he wanted to buy himself something online. The assault left her with two black eyes and a temporary visual impairment.
Now Mountford has been jailed for three years and 10 months.
Prosecutor Suzanne Francis said the offending against his first girlfriend started in 2019 and ended in 2021. His second victim was targeted between March 2021 until 2023. Mountford blamed his behaviour on his ADHD.
She told the court: "He started a relationship with an individual when she was aged 15 and he was 16 and he would get angry and shout at her. He moved in with her in 2020 and gave her black eye in the first week.
