Tributes following death of Potteries pantomime dame Paul

TRIBUTES have been paid to a talented performer who entertained audiences in Stoke-on-Trent as a pantomime dame for decades.

'Gentle giant' Paul Brammer was well-known across the Potteries for his hilarious performances with Stoke Amateur Theatre Society and the Mow Cop Players.

At over 6ft, he was a larger then life character who made a perfect Widow Twankey, a monumental Mother Goose and a sensational Sarah the Cook. The former Holden Lane School student helped to turn many a small company's festive production into a major event. He spent 40 years as a professional entertainer before his death on Tuesday.
