Hall: Vale need to learn lessons after away loss

CONNOR Hall was not impressed with Port Vale’s first-half display against Rotherham United and insisted the players must learn quickly after returning to League One.

The centre-back was on target in the second half to score a rare goal for Vale, but the damage had been done with that poor team showing in the first 45 minutes, which saw the Valiants 2-0 adrift and down to 10 men following Jaheim Headley’s red card.

“We can’t perform how we performed in the first half but then on the other hand in the second half we gave it a right good go,” he told the club.

“We managed to get one back and probably could have, should have, got another one and got a draw out of it but we lost the first game and we are absolutely gutted.
