FORMER soldier Lee Kelly who struck his ex partner during a heated row has been spared jail.
The 48-year-old dad, who served in Northern Ireland, two tours of Iraq and two tours of Afghanistan, initially left the address after an argument with his victim.
But when he returned the pair rowed again. North Staffordshire Justice Centre heard he had been drinking and accepted he struck out at her and as they fell on the sofa he hit her with his head. And he used cushions to stop her hitting him.
