45-year-old found by revellers on car park

- Sentinel Reporter

A DAD-of-three was tragically found dead in a city centre car park by revellers on a night out.

The alarm was raised after ‘unresponsive’ Neil Bailey was seen sitting in the rear car park of Barclays Bank, on Hillchurch Street in Hanley, below.

Paramedics were called to the scene in the early hours of Sunday, March 2 and the 45-year-old was confirmed deceased shortly after their arrival.

An inquest heard that Neil had moved to Cumbria in 2024 following his release from prison. But he had returned to Stoke-on-Trent to pay a surprise visit to his children on February 28 - just two days before his tragic death.

Detective Constable Mia Postlethwaite said the death was ‘not suspicious’.

She told the heading: “Mr Bailey was found perched upright against a step, surrounded by drug paraphernalia. There were blister packs of paroxetine, opened blister packs of an unknown drug, cannabis, tin foil and some uncapped needles. No drugs were found apart from the cannabis.
