Cole vows there's more to come after his excellent Valiants start

Valiants fans were crying out for the club to sign a goalscorer on their League One return, even more so after Lorent Tolaj was sold for a seven-figure fee to Plymouth Argyle.

Vale left it late in the day to find their man, with 30-year-old Cole coming to an agreement to end his time at Championship side West Brom to move to Burslem on a permanent deal.

And with the experienced Jayden Stockley currently sidelined with injury, Cole was immediately thrust into the starting lineup.

He made an instant impact by scoring one and setting up another goal for Ryan Croasdale in a 3-2 home defeat by Leyton Orient.

Cole was then on the scoresheet last weekend as the Valiants finally won their first league game of the season with a 2-0 success at Exeter.
