Charity Commission probe at dog rescue

SCENE: Kennels at Animal Lifeline in Cellerhead.

THE Charity Commission has begun a statutory inquiry into the operation of Animal Lifeline.

The Cellarhead-based charity rescues and rehomes dogs.

But the Charity Commission has stepped in just weeks after the arrest of a Stoke-on-Trent woman on suspicion of fraud by abuse of position. She has since been released on conditional bail.
