A 'COWARDLY bully' has been jailed after subjecting his ex-girlfriend to a terrifying campaign of abuse.

Layton Bowman's relationship with the victim broke down after he made repeated accusations she was cheating on him.

But Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court heard the 20-year-old, right, refused to accept the rejection.

Prosecutor Alison Whalley said: “On May 9 last year, the victim was staying with her friend after breaking up with Mr Bowman. The following day, he sent an Instagram message saying 'Watch. He banged on the door until she opened it. He asked who was in the house, before calling her a ‘slag’
